Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for the New Year!

New Year 2011This year has been busy for Epygi with the release of the Video Conferencing feature and QX1000, growing relationships with new distributors and increased market share. In particular, Epygi was one of the first to incorporate the Video Conferencing feature into our line of IP PBXs, allowing us to win several awards. We want to thank all of our Value-Added Resellers and distributors for their great efforts which have contributed to our success immensely over the past year. We are looking forward to the launch of new PBX models in 2012, which we will be announcing in the first quarter. From everyone at Epygi Technologies, we hope that you have a happy holiday season.

Epygi Provides a Cutting-Edge Solution for Orange Cameroon's Conferencing System

Orange is a leading mobile telecom company in France with several locations throughout Europe, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Within Africa, Orange has locations in multiple countries including Botswana, Egypt, Cameroon and Madagascar. In Cameroon, Orange is the largest multimedia mobile operator in the entire country.

Epygi Improves Communication Across Office Locations

After much investigation in 2010, Orange Cameroon selected Epygi's QuadroM32x IP PBXs to be utilized as their internal multimedia conference server.

Orange CameroonAcf'2i, an Epygi Value-Added Reseller, installed QuadroM32xs in the organization's two main offices located in Yaoundé and Douala in only two weeks. Because employees are separated between the two offices, it is imperative to have a seamless communication system, thus allowing employees the ability to talk with one another regardless of their location.

Video Conferencing Feature Cuts Down on Travel Costs

Orange Cameroon holds weekly meetings for employees; the video conferencing has allowed for staff at both locations to be included in these meetings. "The video-conferencing feature has cut costs for us immensely, because we no longer have to pay for airfare and hotels in order for people to speak face-to-face," says Jean-Bosco Kiampi, project manager of Orange Cameroon. With video, conference call users are able to see the current speaker as they talk, and either manually or automatically switch between participants. Additionally, this feature has a one-time license fee unlike many other providers, making this a low total cost of ownership solution. The video conferencing feature is simple, easy and cost effective.

Hot-Standby Keeps Orange Continuously Connected

The installed QuadroM32xs are connected to the Mobile Service Switching Center using ISDN-E1 connections. Both of these locations are equipt with the hot-standby feature which guarantees Orange Cameroon will always have a working phone system. Included in this feature is real-time backup of the systems. This feature is crucial, because it ensures reliable connectivity at all times.

Flexibility of New Features

Epygi has the ability to create new features to meet customers' unique needs because of the company's focus on development as well as gathering resellers' feedback from the field. Currently, Epygi is working on a new feature called Instant Conferencing, which Orange Cameroon will be implementing in their phone system.

This feature will allow Orange Cameroon mobile subscribers the ability to handle a conferencing session on their mobile phones. Customers will call into a 1-800 number, which is forwarded to the Quadro. The Quadro then asks the caller if they are the participant or the moderator. Once the moderator is connected to the call, the other participants are invited to join. The flexibility of the Instant Conferencing feature allows mobile users to do work on the go, which in turn leads to more effective business.

Moving Forward with Epygi

The incorporation of Epygi's IP PBXs into their internal network has made business run more smoothly for Orange Cameroon. Orange Cameroon was so satisfied with Epygi's products, they are replacing all of their outdated telephony components from Alcatel-Lucent's to Epygi's.

Epygi Certifies SURiX Door Phones in Argentina

Epygi and ITS Argentina, our local distributor for the region, have just completed certification of the SURiX one/two button and keypad door phones based on the SIP protocol with the Epygi Quadro line of IP PBXs. SURiX is a local manufacturer of door phones in Argentina serving the entire region. With the combined solution of the door phones and Epygi IP PBXs, commercial and residential units can use a single system for access control and telephony needs. With the video options on the door phones and the video telephones, tenants can see and talk to visitors making the system more secure.

The door phone can be configured to ring one or more phones, and if no one answers it can be diverted to a security station or a mobile device. With distinctive ringing the tenants can distinguish between a regular phone call or a door call.

Once it has been determined the person is allowed to enter the facility, the tenant pushes the proper key on the phone to allow the door to open. With only one system the building owner can offer telephony with advanced features and video access control with the assurance the system is compatible with other devices based on SIP protocol such as security cameras.
