When a caller is leaving message at a given extension during off hours and it happens to be running long and another person also calls the same extension and wants to leave a message, 2nd caller will get the mailbox is full message.

Is there any way so that PBX is able to record 2 voicemails for the same extension at the same time from 2 different callers? If not, is there a way to forward the call to another extension when a caller is already leaving a voicemail so that the 2nd user will not get a false mailbox is full message? I have already tried to enable the Call Forward busy on the extension and that does not work.

Is this a bug or by design? Is there a workaround?

Hi etolentino!

this is not completely "odd" behaviour

actually it comes from the following:

when recording a voicemail, system reserves a space sufficient to record the message with duration specified in "Maximal mail message duration" combobox on the "Voice Mail Settings" page of the extension. By default it is equal to 5 min. So if you have less than 5 min space in your mailbox, system will allow only one voicemail to be recorded at once.

if you have lets say 4 min space, and set the "Maximal mail message duration" to 1 minute, you will be able to record 4 messages similtaneously. So if you have a few space for VM, but a lot of users calling at the same time, you need to decrease the "Maximal mail message duration".

Or, another solution - increase the space - either assign more percentage to that busy extension, or, better, get a128Mb USB stick to connect to the Quadro, and you will forgetabout problems with space for VM

Best regards,
