I know this is probably a stupid question, but I would like to know if it is possible to transfer calls from a normal analogue phone to other extensions.

I can transfer to the analogue phone from the SIP phones and I can make a connection to another extension if i am not on the line to anyone on the analogue (eg. i pick up the analogue and dial 9#, extension 9 rings) but as soon as I'm on a call this no longer works.

thanks

If you refer to the Epygi reference card on this site, or on the CD accompanying the Quadro there are instructions on transferring calls etc. from Analog extensions.

If you wish to do a transfer, then:
- perform a hook flash (either with Recall / Flash button or by quickly hitting the hook button
- wait for dialtone then dial the transfer destination extension
- wait for it to start ringing.
- now you can either do a blind transfer by simply hanging up, or an attended transfer by first connecting with the new caller then hanging up.

I am searching for an answer to the same/similar problem as reported by LightSpeed below - I wonder if anyone can help ?

I have an 16xi system with 7 analog extensions and 4 VOIP ones - our
customer can transfer perfectly on the VOIP units but not on the analog extensions ? They only use ISDN lines and not SIP calls.

When <R> is hit - the caller hears music every time, yet the phone does not give a dialtone - if an extension is dialled a voice states 'the number you have dialled does not exist'. I have even tried simulating a break by tapping the on-hook switch in case the break generated by the phone (100mS) is not long enough - same result.

The WEIRD thing is that transfer works perfectly on INTERNAL calls between analog extensions - it only fails when the other end is an ISDN caller (either called or who has called in) ! (We do not yet use SIP calls to test if this is the same).

This customer has just thrown out an awful IP based system and this is now a deal breaker ! ...any ideas please ?

...thanks in advance :-)

Hi amcomp, theoretically the"R" should work always when youuse analogphones. If there are problems, it could be because of too long or too short "flash" timeout configured on phone. Quadro accepts by default the flash timeouts from 100 to 800 msec. If phone flash timeout is bigger (or equal to 800 msec), it can be adjusted either from the phone, or from Quadro's "linesconfig.cgi" webpage. If your problem will not be solved by reducing/increasing the flash timeout, then please open a TSS ticket and attach some Quadro logs after reproducing the scenario with failed transfer. This will help us to identify your problem.
