To the powers that be:
I find it kind of painful that the only way to find out if an ISDN BRI line is down is via the "Status" and then "Hardware" page, sometimes when a client phones for line issues, i need to log into their Epygi PBX, goto this section and see if there lines are down or not, and let them know which one to report. A great feature would be if a user were to be able to from there handset dial a number *?? and hear a message saying: "ISDN Trunk 1 UP or DOWN" "ISDN Trunk 2 UP or DOWN" "ISDN Trunk 3 UP or DOWN" This would allow the client to find out which line is up or down and which line to report faulty to their Telco without getting us techies involved....? Also, maybe i'm doing something wrong - in the events page, there is also no place for the Epygi to create an event if an ISDN line is down or UP, would be great if it could email us...on line status.... Just a thought... regards, Shaun |

You can already do this if you set the relevant event and add an SMS gateway. It will then SMS and also email you each time the link is UP / DOWN.

Shaun, there are "ISDN Status Usable" and "ISDN Status Unusable" events, which you can configure. You have probably missed them...

Hi David,
I have tested this, i have the ISDN unusable edited it to email me if it goes down, for some time now and our line in our area have been having many issues, but i never get an email or notifcation in the events log. Two of our lines have been down for a week now and i havent got an email I have tested email send and works fine. quadro 16xi (5.1.19) .if the email notify did do its job i would not be complaining ![]() regards, Shaun Last edited by lambsons : 02-05-2010 at 05:56 AM. |

lambsons,
Have you set up the SMTP setting and test it to make sure your epygi can send email? Look under system->Mail setting |

Shaun, I am actually not sure when those two events should bee raised, but I supposed they should be triggered in case of ISDN link UP/DOWN... You probably remember - ISDN is not my strongest point
. I'll ask Arthur to comment here.. Maybe he has something to tell you on this ![]() Best regards, David |

In Passive Mode Quadro does not raise ISDN link Usable/Unusable events at all. So you cannot receive e-mail too.
Please check if Quadro configured in Passive Mode. Artur |
