Hi,
Quadro2x using iiNet for VoIP (I'm in Sydney, Australia), analogue phone connected on Line 1, call routing entries are set to use iiNET and fail over to PSTN. Incoming PSTN and VoIP number calls are working ok. Outgoing somewhat ok... The first attempt to dial out often fails. A second attempt mostly works. Any suggestions? Also, in testing the PSTN failover there is a long delay until I hear a message saying something like "still trying to dial" before ultimately the call works over PSTN. Any way to speed failover up when the VoIP is down? Anyone else using iiNET and willing to share their VoIP Carrier setup, excluding account specifics of course? Thanks in advance for any help Regards, John Last edited by jab : 06-22-2012 at 04:19 AM. Reason: clarify - typed "anyway" when should have been "any way" |

It is hard to say what is the reason of the outbound calls failure without watching the logs. Therefore I would suggest to contact Alloy or Epygi's technical support on this matter submitting the system logs downloaded from Quadro after the call failure.
As far as the failover is concerned then you can try to set a small value (like 5 seconds) in the "Activity Timeout" parameter on the second page of the call routing wizard. Also, tick the "Enable Activity Timeout" checkbox. That parameter limits the waiting time of Quadro and helps to failover to another route without waiting for general timeout expiration or call rejection message from remote end. |

Thanks hrant. I'll give the Activity Timeout a try.
More information on the first call / second call issue. It seems that the first call is actually working but that the dialling handset is receiving no feedback that the call is in progress - just silence. Does that give you any ideas? Thanks again. |

What you mean by "actually working" - that the phone shows the call is connected but there is no voice in both directions?
Check also the call routing entry used for calls to your ITSP and enable the RTP proxy if it is not enabled. Just guessing, not much we can do without having the system logs from Quadro. |
