If I browse to a voice mailbox (via vmail.cgi) and click on the speaker icon for an existing message, the popup window provides a file named voicemail.wav .
Windows Media Player 11 does not recognize the codec used for the file, does anyone know which codec is used to play the file? (I do realize that the message can be emailed, which causes epygi to do some conversion, and will then play successfully.) |

If you'll go to "Telephony -> Voice Mail Common Settings" page, the you can change the Voice Mail Recording codec. By default it is set to G.729, which is paid codec and not available in Windows Media Player. You must install it on your PC to be able to play the voice mails recorded by that codec. You can change the recording codec to G.711 and then can play voice mails directly from Quadro GUI. Note, that by using G.711 you'll have less recording space, than with G.729.
Before sending a voice mail via e-mail Quadro is converting it from any format to G.711 (PCMU), so the user can play it on his PC. |
