I get great results using Linksys SPA8000 or SPA2102 ATAs as Quadro fxs extensions.
However, I can't seem to get t.38 faxing to work. If I configure a SPAxxxx port directly to MyNetFone ITSP, t.38 works perfectly. Using a Quadro fxs port with t.38 g729a enabled with MyNetFone also works perfectly. I think it is a re-invite issue, where is the hidden configuration page in the Quadro 2xi to adjust this? |

Hello
there is no hidden configuration page on this. The T.38 sending from an IP Line is not supported by Quadro yet. If I understood right, you configured SPA8000 FXS ports as separate IP Lines on Quadro, thus you cannot send T.38 from those extensions. For now you have two options to use FAX: 1. Either connect your FAX machines to the Quadro 2x FXS ports (that is actually the supposed main usage of those FXO ports). 2. Or send a FAX from ATA using G.711 instead of T.38. We are planning to add the T.38 support for IP Lines, but I cannot tell when it will be done, as this is not a priority task (taking into account the workarounds above, and the small number of users who need more than one-two FDAX machines). Best regards, David |

Thanks David,
O.K. it simply won't work. Line1 & Line2 already have fax machines. I do need more than 2 fax machines ![]() Using g711u is not reliable if the call goes via VoIP, probably be O.K. if call goes via ISDN. Look forward to this being supported. Have configured SPA8000 port 6 to register directly with the ITSP is what I've done. SPA8000 port 6: SIP port: 5262 RTP ports: 18384-18482 Shouldn't interfere with the Quadro's: SIP: 5060 RTP: 6000-6099 We get free calls between our ITSP's services, so "internal" faxing is done via our ITSP rather than using peer-to-peer Quadro calling. Peer-to-peer Quadro calling would be preferred as it makes us independent of our ITSP. This would create a much more robust configuration. Last edited by darylp : 08-21-2008 at 10:47 PM. You can also use faxback solution for FAX sending, which Australian guys are using (ask Kevin
- user kscoms.Though your solution will work too. If you need to send a FAX to Quadro extension from your ATA, you can configure its dialplan to send the calls directly to Quadro if specific pattern is dialed. This should solve the internal faxing issue. |

Hey there,
Faxback is a great solution to send from desktop thru the Epygi via its resources... Works a charm from the Wan and Lan side.... So when you have IP Phones on 1 subnet and the PCs on aother simple security works fine to send faxes from the Wan side. Now as for your ISDN, if you were not receiving more than 2 faxes at any one time you could create a multi line upto 8 using MSN,s that 2 x channel ISDN 2 service can provide. You can then allocate via MSN the devices where that number is to reach and the Epygi can be used as a pass thru device unless im corrected by David again.Call routing within the Epygi can be used to pass the calls to your other devices connected via the Epygi or the 2 FXO ports on the Epygi itself. Sending Fax calls as I said can be performed by Faxback which as I have found, is a 100% success rate, no failures to date. Works well with the Epygi and definitely worth looking at for faxing. If your ITSP supports faxing as MyNetfone seem to do, then you shouldnt have a problem sending the faxes via the ITSP with failover via the ISDN. Speak to Chris at Alloy for the technical side of it, only 1 problem that I can note with the software is it will only work with a single ip addressed NIC, or does on the test software that I have used. ![]() Regards Kevin |

Faxback is the software that sends the faxes to the Net Satisfaxtion server software or other T38 compliant device.
You can buy it from Alloy here in Australia in single to 10 user licenses. Email and tell them Kevin from KS Coms suggested you contact them... ![]() http://www.quadro.com.au/FAX-T38-WS.htm Regards Kevin Last edited by KSComs : 08-24-2008 at 07:51 AM. |
