howdy
Can i setup an extn/number like 69. Then make all multiple phones ring when 69 is dialled. Then make the multiple phones go into intrcom mode so as it becomes like a paging facility? Cheers Cameron |

Yes you can do this.. but it would be via 2 stage dialling.
Call forward no answer from 1 mer to a virtual that has the same extensions in it as a paging group. But why ![]() Kevin |

Isn't this exactly what a Paging Group does?

Nope... it is ring the paging group then page...
Ordinarily with paging you will get a "splash" tone before the paging announcement. Unless that is what he means by ring first ? Kevin |

Well ... Ideally a splash tone , and then page for a person , then as in 'intercom' have people talk back saying "no hes not here" [for example].
I guess paging group will work ......... next best thing really ....... but does it have a splash tone though? cheers Cameron |

Hey there ,
Paging works fine but try and limit the call to several telephones at once .. ie 8 or so... if you need to cover a large office use the cyberdata gear from alloys website in order to do page... Try not to choke your lan traffic with page calls though otherwise your system will create a call with a very big cough then who knows you might saturate your lan bandwidth which wouldnt be good. Now for some telephone handset types it might be possible to have an auto answer feature turned on so that internal calls can make the handset go into a proxy handsfree intercom call.... SNOM's are useful for that type of thing... Anyway If you need a hand with configs etc... send a pm ... Regards Kevin |

This is meant for when you call an internal extension that the phone behaviour changes. Mot a block of extensions as in a paging group. Regards Kevin |
