Default Lost sip registration

I have many snom phones on my system either remote or local and adjust the registration time to 120sec and they all work well now I have been trying some different phones ie the GXV3140 and a samsung one but you cannot adjust the registration time to 120 sec and they de-register in the epygi, but only half de-register ie you can dial out but not in, if you dial out you can then call back in, its as if the outward dialing wakes the epygi up, can anyone give any advice on how to get the epygi to hold its registration longer than 120 sec

Derek

auto provisioning of the telephone usually resolves any configuration problems on the LAN, using the guide that Epygi have produced for remote extensions usually does the same for remotes.

If you are a reseller, you can get access to that documentation, if not contact your reseller for the information.

Kevin

Hi
This is a very poor reply, the whole idea of this forum is to help people, if I wanted to contact a retailer I would have done so, I am sure the Samsung and other phones I am trying are NOT covered by your "auto provisioning" so my question is as I posted how to stop the Epygi doing this after 120 sec

Why not set up a template and play with that template for the handsets in question ... that way you wont break your current SNOM handsets which work flawlessly ( because they have been tested to work with the Quadro by the Epygi Engineers that sometimes leave messages on this forum ).

The remote extension configuration list will help you, whether you care to contact your reseller or not to get it, is up to you...

Whether you register your quadro so you can gain access to the downloads area where the file may be or even register for warranty with the people from Epygi is up to you...

We all have a choice... take it or leave it...

The system is registered with Epygi, and I do download the files and updates etc
since the cost of voip phone has come down to just a few pounds its good to try different ones, like Pda's, Ip phones and video door systems etc, and this problem of the Epygi cutting off after 120 sec is a problem, so that's what this forum is for "HELP" like you said we all have a choice and I would say to you if you cannot offer help them please don't reply, being told to contact a retailer is not on

I think I have solved the problem by going into the hidden config file and changing the sip registration settings to both be 120 sec from 3600sec the GXV3140 now has been working 14hr I still have to try the samsung

Just to clarify one very interesting fact for you to digest, Epygi is the company, Quadro is the product....

"this problem of the Epygi cutting off after 120 sec is a problem" no it is your choice of budget phones.. dont balme the Quadro...

I have many systems with handsets in the Quadro supported telephone list working flawlessly, you are trying handsets that are not supported by the Epygi engineers to work with the Quadro, and then blaming the Quadro for your choice.

Your logic is extremely flawed.

The whole point of this forum is to HELP people and you really don't want to do that so WHY reply to a HELP request it would be best if you just kept quiet and said nothing at all as your input has been of no use

The fact that I wish to try some different phones that may cost a few pound or £1500 as in the case of the ip door system is my choice I just asked if anyone has an answer as to why the Epygi (Quadro) cuts off after 120 sec you could have told me to try the hidden files that I found out for myself if you did want to help, I am not blaming the Quadro or moaning I just asked if someone could come up with a fix

So I feel in future just keep quiet if you cannot offer any proper help, and save others the problem of dealing with you

Guys.. sorry to break into your sweet conversation..

Please relax You both are right from your own standpoint. Derek, I respect your point, and agree that the forum is for help (for users to help each other), but there is no need to be harsh in comments - that way you definitely decrease the chance to get help from anyone... especially when you are being harsh to our good old Kevin!!!

In any case, lets consider this Anglo-Australian war to be over

Best regards,
David

P.S. One comment related to the original topic of this thread: Derek, I an pretty sure that this problem exists only for the remote extensions. And the reason of the problem is not the Quadro forgetting registration after 120 sec (there was never such a problem in Quadro). The problem is in the NAT routers in between the Quadro and the phone - typically they are keeping the NAT mapping for 2-3 minutes (120-180 sec) before closing them, and that is the real reason why calls start to fail after that time.

So to fix the problem, you have either to open static mappings on those routers, or decrease the registration timeout on the phone. Quadro has absolutely nothing to do with this problem, really

Hi
Thanks for your comments but all I asked for was some help I did not expect to receive the reply I got and was not called for.

Can you explain why changing the sip time settings in the hidden page seams to have fixed the problem, if it is not a Quadro problem

Many Thanks Derek
