We've got a few M32x and are looking at moving from using currently an E1/T1 (30 channels ISDN30) to using a SIP trunk. We are looking at moving the M32x(s) from onsite into a colo rack for better reliability & bandwidth.
I gave the spec of the Epygi to the telco (Telstra in Aus using Broadwork platform I believe) and they said that since the Epygi is not on their "approved" list they can only provide a 60 channels max "SIP with IAD termination". I'm a bit lost with the above terminology. Is the M32X compatible with this termination type and if I wanted more than 60 channels into the single M32x does that mean I will have to get a another line in into a second epygi? I do know that the M32x says 60 concurrent (out going?) calls max. Does this mean I've will hit the limit at 60 channels already and can't have more than 60 channels into it anyway? (So will need another unit for more concurrent calls) We are trying to go from 2 Epygi M32x (with an E1/T1 each) into one (each currently has less than 60 handsets each). BTW Epygi choice of the way to license the fail-over feature is making it expensive (because of IP line licensing) I have other products that you only need to pay a fee to activate the feature and not need to double up your license so you can use failover every now and then (in the hopefully rare case!). It not like the customer are using all the license all the time on the standby unit. |

Not sure what they they mean by that. Assuming they have to give you a SIP account supporting up to 60 concurrent calls (60 channels). Not sure what you mean by "termination" type and by "another line". If they replace two E1 trunks by SIP trunks then the termination type will be SIP/RTP/IP and the line will be the network connection to Telstra. QuadroM32x supports up to 64 external calls. It means that you cannot have more than 64 concurrent calls from Quadro extensions to Telstra. If you need more than that you have to install the second Quadro. Another option would be to use QX1000 which supports up to 300 concurrent calls. "We are trying to go from 2 Epygi M32x (with an E1/T1 each) into one (each currently has less than 60 handsets each)." If you move the handsets from the second 32x (you are removing) to the first one then you will have 120 extension on one 32x. This is not a problem but only 64 of them will be able to make calls through Telstra.
