Hi,
I have our main office Switchvox (asterisk) server setup on the Quadro 2X using the VOIP wizard. Inbound calls from remote office extensions work fine and on the 2X extensions you get to see the remote extension number that is calling. BUT making outbound calls from 2x to the asterisk server the remote phones dont get the extension number of the 2x extension all they get is 0000000000 Is there a way to change the caller ID that remote extensions get say "Sydney Office" etc or at the very least at least the correct 2x extension thats calling ? |

Wish the 2 x settings were a little more transparent and the settings not so cryptic.
Managed to work out how to get the outgoing caller ID to correctly show the 2x extension to the remote asterisk server extensions. NOW anyone know how I can get the incoming FXO calls to NOT show the IP of the 2x unit but rather the PSTN caller ID on the inbound call ? or at least just label the FXO calls "Home Line" etc |

Sounds like Quadro doesn't recognize CallerID sent by PSNT. Only in that case you'll have the Quadro IP instead or CallerID on incoming calls. Please pass through "System -> System Configuration Wizard" and set your country as a locale(location).

I have done that already on first setup , did it again just to double check.
I'll have to check if the PSTN line has caller ID turned ON. If caller ID is not active on the line or the caller has caller ID blocked etc .... is there a way to change the caller ID being shown for an FXO call ie. "Home Line" or whatever ie. if you have incoming VOIP calls, incoming remote extension calls it's nice to see something meaning full for an FXO call like "Home Line" or "Work Line" rather than the IP address of the 2x unit. cheers |

There can be another problem with CallerID detection. Actually in Quadro there is a CallerID standards of countries' national operator. If you've got a line from another CO then it might have differend CallerID standards and it will not recognised by Quadro. In that case we need to determine the correct format of CallerID and adjust your Quadro to detect the CallerID correctly.
I am not sure if you want to modify the CallerID of PSTN or VOIP calls, as there are opposite statemants on your comment, but you can do that if the call is passing through routing table. You can modify the CallerID from the Routing Rule, using "Filter on Caller / Call Type / Modify Caller ID" option. Enabling that option you'll get an additional page at the end of routing wizard, where you can put the following parameters. Inbound Caller Pattern: * Inbound Number of Discarded Symbols: 99 Inbound Prefix: Anything you want ("Home Line" or "Work Line") Infor us about results. |

Russell when sending the call to a merg... just name the merg under Supplementary Services, Caller ID Based Services, Distinctive Ringing, Name - Sales/Service/Admin/Joh Bloe etc.... what ever name you fancy... This is then presented to the MERG telephones.. Regards Kevin |

No, I want to get phones to display the name ....
Sorry for my ignorance .. only had the unit for a week... whats "sending the call to a merg." ? I understand the reply about using call routing and "Filter on Caller / Call Type / Modify Caller ID" .. thats how I fixed the outgoing VOIP calls to the remote asterisk extensions .. they now show the correct thing. when you say "sending the call to a merg." are you talking about call routing ? |

MER or MERG means Many Extension Ringing Group. If you'll enabled MER on some extension, it can be virtual extension as well, and will setup MER list with some phones, then the name sent by Distinctive Ringing will be shown on all the phones in the list.

Ah OK sorry MER I know ... you threw me with MERG , I'll take a look at that .. maybe I can direct the FXO to a virtual and then re name caller ID and then ring all.
thanks |
