New Option: Enable Provisioning Authentication

“Enable Provisioning Authentication” is a new option in the QX IP Lines Settings, which is disabled by default. When activated, it requires verification of the QX admin or any user’s identity against the IP phone provisioning server during the IP Line configuration with a phone. This is done using the preconfigured username and password available on the same IP Lines Settings page.

The auto-provisioning process will only start after successful verification. For most Epygi-supported IP phones, the verification prompt will appear directly on the phone screen. For phones where this isn’t applicable, the prompt will be displayed within the phone’s GUI.

This option enhances security by ensuring that only authorized users can complete the provisioning process. This prevents unauthorized access to the IP phone settings and safeguards sensitive information. Implementing this authentication step adds an extra layer of protection, reinforcing the overall security infrastructure of the QX system.

eQall Receptionist Console: Expanded Capacity

The capacity of the eQall receptionist has been expanded, with the maximum number of watched extensions increased from 100 to 125.

The eQall softphone for Windows features a Receptionist Console equipped with a graphical user interface that allows users to monitor the status of up to 125 selected extensions on the QX. It displays call status (ringing or on a call) and presence status (online, offline, away, DND), streamlining call handling procedures. For example, when transferring a call or setting up a conference call with a monitored extension, the receptionist can easily check the current status of the extension. This information helps the receptionist make informed decisions about whether to proceed with the call transfer.

New: Test FTP Server Feature

Epygi recently introduced a new feature called “Test FTP Server” on the call recording storage settings page. This feature allows users to verify the accessibility and connection status of their FTP server. By clicking the “Test FTP Server” button, a test message is sent to the defined FTP server to confirm the FTP settings and connection status.

Additionally, an appropriate system event has been incorporated for this action, ensuring users receive timely notifications regarding the status of their FTP server connection. This new feature enhances user confidence in their FTP setup, providing immediate feedback and helping to troubleshoot connection issues efficiently.
