Efficient Remote Communication with IP Phone Proxy Service

The IP Phone Proxy Connection Service simplifies the configuration of remote IP phones or SIP trunks, allowing seamless connection to any on-premise QX or ecQX ISO PBX without requiring changes to the on-premise router. This service ensures minimal voice quality issues on all calls, providing a reliable and high-quality communication experience. Managed and operated on the Epygi cloud, the service offers a hassle-free solution for businesses looking to streamline their remote communication setup. It eliminates the need for complex network adjustments, making it an efficient choice for organizations of all sizes.

The service is available in two variants: Standard Proxy Connection (SPC) and Advanced Proxy Connection (APC). A key advantage of SPC is that all SIP messages reach the QX from a single IP address—the proxy’s. This enables the QX firewall to block all SIP traffic except from the proxy IP, which is especially useful when managing multiple SIP endpoints with dynamic IPs. Without the proxy, restricting access to a defined IP range would be impractical.

APC adds another layer of convenience by removing the need for the QX to have a static IP address or for the company’s firewall/NAT to be configured for SIP and RTP forwarding. The QX can simply be installed within the internal network, allowing remote IP phones or softphones to connect without any router modifications.

This flexibility enables businesses to select the option that best suits their needs, ensuring optimal performance and scalability for their communication systems.

Feature Highlight: Epygi Gateway Hosted Survivability

Ensure uninterrupted communication for your business with Epygi’s Gateway Hosted Survivability feature. In the event of a broadband connection loss to a hosted platform, your business can continue making and receiving internal and PSTN calls.

This feature activates the QXFXO4 and QXE1T1 gateways, integrated into your company’s network, as secondary registrar servers for IP phones connected to the hosted platform.

During a broadband failure, the gateway seamlessly takes over, routing calls to and from IP phones. Additionally, calls from the PSTN can be directed to the gateway’s Auto Attendant, allowing quick redirection to IP phones as needed.

Feature Highlight: Enable Provisioning Authentication

When the “Enable Provisioning Authentication” feature is activated, it adds a robust layer of security by verifying the QX admin’s identity against the IP phone provisioning server.

The verification happens during the configuration of the IP Line using a pre-set username and password available in the IP Lines Settings. This ensures that only authorized administrators can configure IP lines on the QX IP PBXs, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access.

By enforcing identity verification, administrators can maintain full oversight over IP line configurations, preventing accidental or malicious changes. This is especially crucial for organizations that operate in industries where regulatory compliance and data protection are critical. By ensuring that only verified personnel can make configuration changes, this feature helps maintain system integrity, ensuring trust in the communication infrastructure.
