Enhancing Security: New Authentication Feature in Epygi QX IP PBXs

In the upcoming release for Epygi QX IP PBXs, we’re introducing a new feature called “Enable Provisioning Authentication.” This feature enhances security when configuring IP lines on the QX.

This feature will be available in the QX IP Lines Settings, and by default, the “Enable Provisioning Authentication” option will be disabled. When activated, it adds an extra layer of security by requiring verification of the QX admin identity against the IP phone provisioning server. This verification process takes place during the configuration of the IP Line with a phone, using the pre-configured user name and password available on the same IP Lines Settings page.

In addition to enhancing security, this feature offers peace of mind by ensuring that only authorized administrators can configure IP lines on the QX IP PBXs.

By requiring verification of the admin identity against the provisioning server, the risk of unauthorized access and configuration changes is significantly reduced. This added layer of protection aligns with our commitment to providing robust and reliable solutions that prioritize the security of our users’ systems and data.
